Today was an affirmation of my career choice.

I got to drive, make money, and listen to a good book all at the same time. It doesn't get much better than that.

The I-80/94 corridor below Chicagoland, IL and Gary, IN might as well have been a country lane for all the traffic it contained.

I was the sole truck approaching the border crossing. A quick two questions and I was on my way.

The sky was partly cloudy in some places, overcast in others and clear in some. The only potential danger today was the temperature and to make that dangerous you have to work very hard. Much harder than I'm willing to work.

Like I said:

It doesn't get much better than that.

Top it all off with my favorite buffet (one of these days I'll order of the menu) at the TA in Woodstock, ON, a bottomless cup of coffee and good service. You have a recipe for a happy trucker.

Tomorrow I'll unload in Mississauga, ON, the GPS calls it Hanlan, ON for some reason. I have a DGL trailer and we don't back haul out of Canada on these trailers. So my options (or their options I should say) consist of Geneva, NY, Mt Holly Springs, PA, Ottawa, IL, Laurinburg, NC or least likely Carleton, MI. We will just have to wait for the deadhead order to see.

Hope your day was as good as mine
